Most key Genertec subsidiaries were set up in the early days of
the People¡¯s Republic of China, thus having a history of around
50 years. During this long period of time, while working assiduously
for the national economic construction and foreign trade undertaking,
Genertec has also trained a group of broad-minded, knowledgeable,
professionally competent and successful talents. Particularly after
its restructuring, Genertec has made new progress in expanding the
company in such areas as trade, service, finance, medicine and manufacturing,
which is a full demonstration of the quality and competence of its
human resources. It is a fair conclusion that the company¡¯s undertaking
brings up its talents, which in turn contribute to the success of
the undertaking, or more accurately, first-class undertaking trains
first-class talents, which in turn create first-class undertaking
for the company.
We know that as a modern intellegent company, knowledge, intelligence
and competence are our best resources. Human resources play the
most direct and pivotal role in the development of the company.
It is people who are the key to make it a success or failure. We
therefore attach great importance to the use and selection of talents
and even greater importance to offering training and incentives
to talents. While pursuing maximized corporate interests, Genertec
is committed to maximizing of the value of its employees. That is
to say, our unswerving pursuit is to create talents in the process
of creating wealth.
The formulation and implementation of the development strategy and
human resources scheme of the company have provided Genertec employees
with greater vigor and vitality in their future development and
offered the talents broader space to grow. We have further improved
and intensified the scientific and rational mechanism to use personnel
properly. A mechanism for the talents to grow has been established
and perfected, which is compatible with both the external environment
and the requirements of the company¡¯s own development, providing
the employees with ample opportunities and relaxed and favorable
conditions to realize their individual value, and the talents with
more harmonious environment to grow and a bigger stage to show their
competence. Our strategic vision is to take the lead in coping with
changes, integrating resources and creating value. Our central idea
is to make the best efforts in pursuing perfection, precision and
splendor.

| The Training Institute |

At the beginning of 2002, to cope with the profound changes in the
internal and external environment, realize the long-term sustainable
development of the company, actively meet with opportunities and
challenges brought about by economic globalization and China¡¯s WTO
membership, Genertec decided to establish the Genertec Technical
Training Institute to improve the training system of the company
and nurture all kinds of talents suitable for the company¡¯s development.
The Genertec Technical Training Institute will organize all-dimensional,
high-level strategic training within the Genertec system in a uniform
and coordinated way. As the only agency managing and organizing
the training work of the restructured company, the Training Institute
will make positive contributions to the training of the company
in such areas as training contents and trainees, resource sharing,
research and investigation, internal resources development, expenditure
control and corporate management study.
After establishment, Genertec Technical Training Institute will
become an internal training institute incorporating such functions
as research and investigation, domestic and foreign cooperation
and communication, organization of education and training programs
and other supportive functions. With fixed classrooms, training
courses, independent faculty and research staff, the Institute effectively
trains and attracts talents needed by the company, and thus helps
to improve the image of the company in the eyes of the public.
Currently, the construction of different facilities of the Genertec
Technical Training Institute is in orderly progress. It is estimated
that in November 2003 the Institute will officially open covering
a land area of 24000 square meters, big enough to hold 400 people
for training courses or conferences at one time.
