Genertec Executive Met with Guests from the Designated Aid-the-Poor County

In the morning of January 30th, 2008, Xu Mingyang, member of CPC Group of Genertec, Vice-General Manager of Genertec, and Chief of the Designated Aid-the-Poor and Matched Assistance Leading Team of Genertec, met with Fan Zhizhong, Deputy County Magistrate of Wuchuan County of Huhehaote, Inner Mongolia, Du Mao, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of People’s Congress and Director of the Aid-the-Poor Office of Wuchuan County, and Huo Jianping, President of Genertec Vocational School of Wuchuan County, at Genertec Plaza. Xu listened to their report on the usage of Genertec’s donation to the county. Relevant personnel and members of the Designated Aid-the-Poor and Matched Assistance Leading Team of Genertec took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, Xu firstly extended warm welcome to them, on behalf of the CPC Group of Genertec and the management and all staff of Genertec. He said, it is an important political assignment given by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to the centrally controlled enterprises to participate in the Designated Aid-the-Poor, it is a form in which the centrally controlled enterprises fulfill their three missions, namely, being the main pillar of the national economy, the key strength to all-roundly build the well-to-do and socialistic harmonious society, and the crucial foundation for the Party to governing the nation, it is the a compelling obligation to carry forward our traditional merit of assisting the poor and people in need of help, and it is a compelling obligation the centrally controlled enterprises should bear. The centrally controlled enterprises could not carry on their business and management activities in a stable environment in the absence of support of all people of the nation, especially those people from the border areas and minority ethnic groups. Consolidation of border areas, solidarity of the people, and harmonious society, are the pre-requisites to successfully realize the new objectives and demands of building well-to-do society all-roundly called for in the 17th Congress of the Party. Currently, Genertec is in a development phase of climbing up to be higher, faster, and stronger, and in a phase to endure hardships and make a spurt to accomplish its ambitions. Last year, He Tongxin, Secretary General of CPC Group of Genertec and Chairman of Genertec led the senior management to formulate the strategy of transformation and upgrade, aiming to realize the objectives of doubled economic value in three years. Genertec people have been greatly encouraged and a joyful atmosphere has been formed in which everyone gives more thought on how to transform and upgrade and to make contributions to the strategy. As the development of Genertec and its strength grows further, it will take more social responsibilities and make more social contributions. Xu pointed out, one of the important experiences drawn from the achievements of Genertec’s aid-the-poor activities for six years is to focus financially on intellectual assistance. It is a practical and effective way to help the poor out of poverty lastingly.
